Road Block
I love to take pictures of stuff I’m eating and doing. I looked through my recent photos and here’s a few that stand out:

Road block! Or should I say, trail block? There’s a few trees down on the trail right now. After five days I’m starting to wonder who will eventually clean it up. If I had a hatchet I’d give it a shot myself. I’m not sure how I feel about toting a hatchet in my milk crate, though…

We had an apartment-wide yard sale over the weekend. We made a measly $24. But it’s alright, we were prepared to get rid of everything pictured anyway. It feels good to sell or donate things that we don’t have a use for. Hopefully each item can serve someone else! And if you’re interested in the rowing machine in the back, let me know.

Organic pizza crust, blueberry compote sauce, bananas, chopped dates, pepitas, maple cinnamon tahini drizzle, hemp seeds. This was part of our lunch during the yard sale. I didn’t use a recipe but it was very easy to make. To make (any) berry compote, use 2 cups of fresh/frozen berries, 2 Tbsp maple syrup, and 1 Tbsp of lemon juice. Lightly boil it on a stove top and mash it with a spoon as it cooks and thickens. I put mine in a blender at the end to break it up even more.

Ezekiel bread toast, stone ground mustard, roma tomato slices; sweet potato, mixed beans in Korean BBQ marinade, steamed green beans. I love sweet potatoes. I have one pretty much every day. They went up from $0.99 to $1.29/lbs at Kroger so we decided to buy a big bag from Costco for $0.79/lbs. They are HUGE. I’m on a stone-ground mustard kick lately and it went great with the tomatoes.

BBQ lentils, brown rice, stone-ground mustard, red cabbage, corn, spinach, red onion. This meal was a breeze. Lentils in a pot. Homemade BBQ sauce recipe that makes enough for a few weeks. Rice in the rice cooker (made yellow with a teaspoon of turmeric for fun). Everything else we keep on hand in the fridge. Tastes great! The mustard gives a nice zing, too. Not pictured, I also had a few dates and pecans for dessert.
Bonus: Friday was Bike to Work Day so we took a group photo at the office.
Kelsee and I have been getting the climbing itch again. We’ve had a blast after going back to the gym a few times. Watching footage like this gets me pumped up to go climb (RIP Dean Potter)! Don’t worry, I won’t be doing any free soloing. I’ll leave it to the pros.
From my mind to yours,
Quinn
